Scorpions – Coming Home | 60th Anniversary Tour
Creative Context
As part of the Scorpions’ 60th anniversary arena production, Microtone developed and produced key musical production elements for a high-profile live show celebrating one of the world’s most iconic rock bands.
Commissioned by internationally renowned show designer Manfred Nikitser Show Lighting, Microtone translated the visual concept into a cohesive musical experience.
The Musical Challenge
The production required music that could support several defining moments of the show: opening the anniversary narrative, transitioning into one of the band’s signature live performances and shaping a major visual climax before the encore.
Microtone’s role was to create music that worked not as standalone material, but as part of the show’s emotional and visual dramaturgy.
What Microtone Created
Opening Experience – “60 Years of Scorpions” Trailer
The show opened with a cinematic anniversary trailer.
Microtone produced the complete audio layer, including voice-over production and dramatic sound effects.

Coming Home – Intro Production
Microtone arranged and produced the iconic intro that transitions directly from the anniversary trailer into the live performance of “Coming Home.”
This version is also featured on the live album “Scorpions – Coming Home Live.”
Arena Scorpions Inflatable Sequence
For one of the show’s largest visual highlights – the Scorpions inflatable – Microtone composed and produced original cinematic music to shape the emotional climax and lead into the encore.

Microtone develops music for stage productions, musicals and theatrical entertainment – from original composition to band arrangements, vocal arrangements and full musical production.
Music for the Stage
Stage music must support story, character, movement and live performance. Microtone creates music that works within theatrical contexts: shaping scenes, supporting performers and connecting musical storytelling with the overall production.
Musical Storytelling
We develop music as part of the theatrical world of a production, shaping characters, scenes and emotional transitions through composition, arrangement and vocal work. Our stage productions combine original musical writing with practical performance needs: music that supports singers, works for bands and ensembles, and carries the story in front of a live audience. This includes original composition, score development, band and vocal arrangements, recording and musical production, tailored to the specific dramaturgy of the stage.

Piraterna på Vättern – Original Swedish Musical Production
Commissioned by Swedish production partner Smofa, Microtone composed the original score and created full band and vocal arrangements for this theatrical musical production in Swedish.
The work provided a complete musical foundation for the stage: connecting original composition, arrangement and vocal storytelling within a live performance context.

A hybrid production in the tradition of the classic spy thriller score, combining full orchestral forces with contemporary pop elements.
Microtone developed a score built around dramatic tension, large-scale orchestral impact and the genre’s signature blend of sophistication and suspense, realized with the Microtone Studio Orchestra. Music by Zoltán Kovács.
“Winter”
An orchestral score for atmospheric visual storytelling – following the emotional arc of landscape, season and light in the tradition of landmark nature documentary scoring. Microtone developed a score that moves between intimate musical detail and full orchestral presence, demonstrating the expressive range of music written to picture. Music by Matthias Deneke, realized with the Microtone Studio Orchestra.
